Stavros First is a multi-award-winning American composer and multi-instrumentalist. His works have earned worldwide acclaim, and his compositions span modern Classical commissions to Orthodox sacred music works.

His concert music has been recognized with the Handel and Haydn Society's Evangelyna Etienne Scholarship Award and, at the Rivers School Conservatory, the Composer Chair Award and the Director's Award. His piece 'Whispers of the Dying Light' was adapted as the score for the short film Fragments, premiered by the Hawaii Filmmakers Collective.

Stylistically he draws on the Classical tradition alongside folk music from America and the Greek, Lithuanian, and Scottish lines of his own family.
